Lincoln Southwest Hires New Coach

The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks won the Class A state championship in the fall.  Now they have hired a new coach.

Lincoln Southwest has announced the promotion of Mitch Ohnoutka to head coach.  Ohnoutka replaces Mark Watt, who retired after 20 seasons. Ohnoutka was an assistant for Watt, serving as the team’s pitching coach last season.

A Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame inductee in 2010, Ohnoutka played fastpitch in Lincoln for 30 years. He will take over a team that went 36-6 last year. Beating Lincoln East in the state championship season.
